According to AFP, there were two children who lost their lives in the airstrikes. As per the Taliban, Pakistan broke the already accredited 48-hours ceasefire treaty. Speaking anonymously to AFP, a Taliban source said, "Pakistan has broken the ceasefire and bombed three locations in Paktika. Afghanistan will retaliate." Notably, the strike, as believed, is an aftermath of the suicide bomb attack near the bordering North Waziristan district, killing seven Pakistani militaries. 13 other Pakistani military personnel were injured. Pakistan later blamed the Hafiz Gul Bahadur Group. Pakistan officials, regarding the airstrike, had also said that they were targeting the Hafiz Gul Bahadur Group as a means of conducting "precision air strikes." Notably, Hafiz Gul Bahadur Group is a fragmented local part of Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP). Meanwhile, Afghanistan's Taliban spokesperson Zabihullah Mujahid confirmed that Afghanistan will continue the ceasefire, unless Pakistan does not retaliate anything more.
