Abhishek Sharma came back to his initial form exactly when it mattered the most for Sunrisers Hyderabad, whose IPL 2025 campaign was literally hanging by a thread. Sharma scored just his second fifty of the season during the massive 225 run chase in the match against the Gujarat Titans. The 24-year-old timed his shots brilliantly and led the charge of confidence for SRH at the Narendra Modi Stadium. With an incredible 141 against Punjab Kings, Sharma scored poorly through the season after that and failed to make runs. The left-hander simply looked rusty and miles away from his form. But every match turned out to be a do-or-die one for Sunrisers, и stepped up by looking like regaining his form at the best possible time. Sharma made all the early running under a huge target of 224. He hit a huge six off the bowling of Siraj in the first over, sending an early message. While Travis Head and Ishan Kishan took their time to settle down, Sharma looked in full flow, constantly finding the boundaries with amazing ease. Even as the required run rate climbed over 12, he was the man that kept the innings alive. Sharma's half-century came with the very big six off Gerald Coetzee and came in just 28 balls. After Kishan was dismissed, Sharma never really held back as he went against Rashid Khan, hitting six then a four to keep the chase alive. The vacation reinvigorated the opener from Sunrisers, who returned to put in a strong performance. He is now the top run-scorer for SRH this season with a strike rate of 183.33 and an average of 34.22. Sharma finally fell for a magnificent 74 off 41 balls, almost delivering the final blow to SRH's hopes in the chase. For all practical purposes, the Orange Army is out of the playoff race, but Abhishek will look to carry this form into their remaining matches and finish strong.
