India produced a near-flawless performance in the fifth and final T20I against England at the Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai, and sealed the series 4-1 by defeating England comprehensively by 150 runs. Batting first, India managed to put up a huge total of 247/9 thanks to a phenomenal 135 off 54 balls by Abhishek Sharma. England, however, committed undoing by crumbling under the pressure of a record chase and getting bundled out for just 97 in 10.3 overs, as Mohammed Shami, Shivam Dube, and Abhishek stood out with the ball. The thumping win clearly spoke of India's firepower and tactical acumen, leaving England helpless against the host's aggressive approach. Put in to bat, India started off briskly even though Sanju Samson departed early for 16. The stage was then taken over by Abhishek, who produced a sensational knock, hammering 135 runs off just 54 balls, laced with seven fours and 13 sixes. His blistering strike rate of 250 kept the England bowlers on the back foot as he single-handedly dominated the innings. Middle and lower order could not really contribute significantly, but still India's intent ensured that they could pile up a strong total of 247/9 in 20 overs. England were blown away in their bowling attack, with the exception of Brydon Carse (3/38), everyone else was a victim of carnage. Chasing a big target of 248, England started well with Phil Salt smashing a quick 55 off just 23 balls, hitting seven fours and three sixes. His wicket however opened the floodgates for a complete collapse with the side losing wickets one after another. Mohammed Shami (3/25) struck early, dismissing Ben Duckett and later cleaning up the tail. Two more important contributions in breaking the England batting came from Varun Chakravarthy (2/25) and Shivam Dube (2/11), which finally sealed a complete victory for India. Harry Brook, Jos Buttler, and Liam Livingstone were unable to muster any resistance and saw England's innings collapse in 10.3 overs for a paltry 97. The Indian bowlers had carried out their plan to perfection as the series was wrapped up in an emphatic manner. The win ensured India took the series 4-1 and made a statement in aggressive batting and disciplined bowling performances.
