It seems like the young Indian batter Abhishek Sharma heaves a sigh of relief for not getting any more "flying chappals" from his mentor Yuvraj Singh. Yuvraj, who is also known for his exploits against the Englishmen, has tweeted his pleasure for his disciple's rampant 37-ball century on February 2. After Abhishek's record-breaking century, Yuvraj shared a post on his X account saying, Well played @IamAbhiSharma4! That's where I want to see you! Proud of you. Well played @IamAbhiSharma4! That's where I want to see you! 🔥 Proud of you 👊🏻💯#IndVSEng — Yuvraj Singh (@YUVSTRONG12) February 2, 2025 Reflecting on that, Abhishek expressed his delight, jokingly said that his teacher will finall restrain from throwing sandals at him. In the post-match conference, Abhishek Sharma said, "I think this is the first time Yuvraj has tweeted something without adding 'I will send a chappal.' Finally, he is proud of me. So I'm very happy. Three years ago, when I started working with him, he always told me that, as a player, doubts are natural. But he always reassured me, saying, 'You will be there, and you will perform. You will win matches for India. I remember during our training camp in COVID times, he repeatedly told me, 'don’t think short-term. I’m preparing you for the long run.' Now that things are coming together, I am really happy." Read also: Abhishek Sharma Smashing Second Fastest Fifty for India After Yuvraj Singh!
