India's Abhishek Sharma has created history in the ICC T20I rankings following his dynamite show in the Asia Cup 2025. The 25-year-old hit 314 runs in seven games at a strike rate of 200, three of those being half-centuries, and has now reached the highest-ever rating for a T20I batter. Sharma now has 926 rating points, beating England's Dawid Malan, who was the record holder with 919 points. His outstanding performance saw him hit a personal best of 931 rating points briefly after a 61-run innings against Sri Lanka in the last Super Four game, the highest-ever T20I rating. Tilak Varma is third in the standings, only 25 points away from England's Phil Salt. India captain Suryakumar Yadav had a poor run, only managing to score 72 runs in six matches, dropping to eighth position with 698 points. Sri Lanka opener Pathum Nissanka moved two positions up to fifth with an incredible century against India last Thursday in the Super Four.
