In the first innings, also Samad impressed as he scored 127 off only 117 balls, with nine sixes and six boundaries taking Jammu and Kashmir to 270. Coming into the books with twin centuries against Odisha in timely fashion before the IPL 2025 retention deadline, the 22-year-old Samad might have got salvation. Retained by Sunrisers Hyderabad in previous editions, Samad might land a pink slip this time around; and all he can do is stake his claim in the Ranji Trophy for getting a higher in the proposed mega auction in November.
