2025 may just be the year Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) breaks their IPL trophy drought. They are just one win away from the playoffs, and have yet to lose a game since April 18. Unlike their prior seasons where they limped to the top four, this year has a different feel to it. A significant factor is the improved bowling unit, which has always been their team's Achilles heel. Historically, the team has been carried by shining stars such as Virat Kohli, Chris Gayle, and AB de Villiers. Now, star players such as Josh Hazlewood, Krunal Pandya, and Bhuvneshwar Kumar are taking the opportunity to shine when it matters most. The batting unit has also delivered. Kohli continues to lead from the front but Phil Salt, Jacob Bethell, Devdutt Padikkal, Rajat Patidar, and Tim David have all contributed. The guys understand their role and are executing it well. If this continues, RCB will likely win the IPL 2025 trophy on June 3rd. Also, AB de Villiers said he will be at the stadium on the final day if RCB reach the final. He was also with the Delhi Daredevils from 2008-10, but his heart lies with RCB. The South African legend also told him he would join him on stage to lift the trophy. “nothing will give me more pleasure than to lift that trophy with virat” ❤️ pic.twitter.com/CnWvaeVNys — sir jacob bethell 🏴 (@bet_helll) May 17, 2025 Read also: Rohit Sharma Honoured with Stand Named After Him at Wankhede ABD Commented: “If RCB makes it to the (IPL) final, I’ll be there at the stadium. Nothing will give me more pleasure than to lift that trophy with Virat Kohli. We’ve (RCB) tried that for many, many years.”
