Almost all cricket enthusiasts in India felt disgruntled when the team management omitted Kuldeep Yadav for all the five Tests in England. Even if the pitches provided something for the spinners, it seemed that the chinaman was not a part of coach Gautam Gambhir's scheme. Why one might wonder? Former Indian batsman Aakash Chopra attempted to unravel this enigma. In a new video he explained Gambhir's noticeable resemblance to bowlers who can bat slightly that includes the likes of Shardul Thakur, Washington Sundar and so on. And thus Kuldeep Yadav gets overlooked, most of the time. Here is what Chopra said on his YouTube channel: “One thing stands out in Gautam’s coaching, he values bowlers who can bat. Sundar, Shardul, and Jadeja have seen more responsibility. Sometimes you feel that Kuldeep Yadav is getting left out because of that, but I am sure he would have a role when they play at home,” Read also: Unfiltered Md Shami! Pacer jabs at Indian team's selection pattern Indeed, that has been the story in the bowler's whole career so far. Having debuted in 2017, he has only been able to play 13 Tests, where he has done all right, and taken 56 wickets as well. A hard wicket-taker, Chopra believes Kuldeep will finally receive his deserving payback in the Test series coming up in India. However, he is an invaluable member of the white-ball side, and now will be viewed in action in the Asia Cup 2025, beginning September 10. He has played 40 T20I so far, and has taken 49 wickets. He together with Varun Chakravarthy will create a lethal combine, which will only prove useful in the UAE conditions, that supports the slower bowlers.
