The captain of Punjab Kings, Shreyas Iyer, is likely to get back his BCCI Central Contract back after the upcoming BCCI meeting. Shreyas, who initially walked in as a substitute for injured Virat Kohli since the England home series, casually forced the limelight to be on him. According to some recent updates, he is likely to get a Grade A contract. Before Iyer was snubbed from the BCCI Central Contract, he was enjoying a Grade B contract. His refined technique was evident in the 2024–25 home ODI series against England, where Iyer scored 59 runs off 36 balls in the first match, followed by 44 and 78 runs in the next two, amassing 181 runs in the series at an average of 60.33.
