Pakistan has been announced as the host of the 2025 Women's ODI World Cup Qualifier, with the tournament set to begin on April 6. This will be the first time Pakistan is hosting a major women's cricket tournament. The Qualifier will feature six teams: Pakistan, Scotland, Ireland, West Indies, Thailand, and Bangladesh. The tournament will follow a round-robin format, with the top two teams advancing to the 2025 Women's World Cup. The venues for the matches are yet to be confirmed, but Karachi, Multan, and Faisalabad are being considered as potential host cities. An official from the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) said, "It is a big boost for us that soon after the Champions Trophy, we are getting ready to host another ICC event." While the Qualifier is a big opportunity for Pakistan cricket, it will also coincide with the 10th edition of the Pakistan Premier League (PSL). India-Pakistan World Cup Matches to be played at neutral venues The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and the PCB had previously agreed that if Pakistan qualifies for the World Cup, any match between India and Pakistan will be played at a neutral venue. As hosts of the World Cup, India has already qualified for the main event, while Pakistan must reach the final of the Qualifier to secure their spot.
