Presently the most controversial bowler in the ongoing Border Gavaskar Test Series, Mohammad Siraj, was seen leaving the field limping on day 2 at Gabba. While he was bowling the 7th over his spell, he paused suddenly, holding the back of his knee, indicating some discomfort. He summoned the physio, had some treatment, and then finally decided to go back in the dressing room. Akash Deep then came and competed the over. Even the commentators looked concerned and guessed that he probably may have gotten a hamstring pull. Till the lunch, there was no sign of Mohammad Siraj with the ball but fielded four overs and had stopped runs from Travis Head. He, however, came back with the ball after the 40-minute interval and bowled 5 more over post-lunch. Siraj flipped the bails, and Labuschagne humorously flipped them back, creating a playful exchange. Initially, Labuschagne assumed Siraj was approaching to talk but quickly realized the pacer's intent to disturb the bails. Siraj simply went to the stumps and shuffled the bails, which Labuschagne again reshuffled. The fun ended when Nitish Reddy dismissed Labuschagne, who edged a full delivery to Virat Kohli at second slip. It was in the Ashes 2023, when the English speedster Stuart Broad flipped the bails twice in a single test match and got wickets in the very next ball. He took Todd Murphy later the test, but it was Mark Wood who established the superstition as he took Marnus Labuschagne the previous day. It seems quite obvious why Labuschange reshuffled the bails immediately after Siraj did it, but hard luck!
