Notably, Pakistan was the host for the 2025 CT that ignited the flames of the hybrid model. Following that, India will organize the 2025 Women's World Cup and coordinate with Sri Lanka in the 2026 ICC T20 World Cup. A bit of cold war and exchange of mail had made the ICC sit with Pakistan Cricket Board secretary Syed Mohsin Raza Naqvi in a virtual meeting. There, Naqvi made his standpoint clear that, if India denies, Pakistan too won't travel India in any of the ICC tournaments. The ICC has to grant neutral venues for all the India-Pakistan matches. Meanwhile, the United Arab Emirates along with South Africa stepped in as potential hosts as the probability of Pakistan losing hosting rights arose.
