The M Chinnaswamy Stadium has been hosting Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) ever since the inaugural IPL season in 2008. But there's a definite possibility that the defending champions could be forced to shift base to host the 2026 IPL. The stadium was previously announced as part of the venues for the Women's ODI World Cup 2025, which include staging the second semifinal. But following the recent Bengaluru stampede tragedy that took 11 lives and injured over 50 people, the Karnataka government has now announced the stadium as "unsuitable and unsafe" for large congregations due to its "design and structure. Consequently, the Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA) has already relocated the Maharaja Trophy T20 to the Srikantadatta Narasimha Raja Wadeyar Ground, Mysore. Presently, the Women's ODI World Cup matches that were scheduled in Bengaluru have also been rescheduled. Unless the stadium is opened up, RCB will have to search for an alternative venue for IPL 2026. Although Chinnaswamy's charged environment is difficult to match, these are six possible venues that could host RCB's games. Also Read | No Home Matches for RCB at M. For the supporters, it would be weird to support their team from a place other than Bengaluru, but there are concerns of security that prevail at present. With choices from the scenic Dharamshala to the huge DY Patil Stadium, RCB will have to decide at the earliest so that organizers and fans alike can prepare themselves for the next chapter in the team's existence.
