Rajasthan Royals had a highly disappointing season in the Indian Premier League 2025, managing to finish ninth in the points table. After such a season of inconsistency and injuries, rebuilding would be on the cards as the franchise would look forward to coming back stronger in the next edition.    RR will most probably enter into the trading window before the IPL 2026 auction to make necessary changes and solidify their core with players who can plug the gaps. Here are three players that RR might contemplate trading with other franchises ahead of the forthcoming auction.    Fazalhaq Farooqi    Image Source: BCCI   Afghanistan pacer Fazalhaq Farooqi could be one of the first players RR might look to trade. The left-arm fast bowler failed to create any impact during the season as he went wicketless in the five matches he got to play. Furthermore, his economy rate of around 10 proved costly for the franchise as he failed to contain the batters in both powerplay and death overs.    Farooqi has failed to be consistent and provide RR with enough breakthroughs, despite being a prospect. The management can look to trade him off to another franchise in order to get a more experienced overseas pacer who can create an effective pairing alongside Jofra Archer.    Tushar Deshpande    Image Source: BCCI   Another player who could be in the trading radar of RR is Tushar Deshpande. The right-arm pacer played 10 matches in the IPL 2025, managing to take nine wickets below par by all standards in the league. Having shown promise in his earlier stints with CSK, Deshpande struggled to live up to that reputation in RR colours.    His economy rate was also on the higher side, and he largely disappointed during critical junctures, allowing the opposition batters to get away. Management of RR may look at trading him for another Indian pacer who can bring some control at the back end of the attack.    Also Read: What happened when India Women reached the WODI World Cup final in 2017?   Sanju Samson    Image Source: BCCI   Perhaps the biggest talking point ahead of the trade window could be Sanju Samson's future at RR. The franchise captain has been linked with trade talks in recent months, and any such move cannot be entirely ruled out. Samson had an injury-affected 2025 season, playing only nine games and managing just 285 runs, well below the usual contribution from him.   His sporadic appearances as an Impact Player also disrupted the team's balance. With RR seeking stability and leadership, management may consider trading Samson for another dynamic top-order batter who can bring both aggression and reliability into the lineup.
