The Indian women’s cricket team is set to converge in Visakhapatnam for a week-long preparatory camp ahead of the 2025 ICC Women’s ODI World Cup. According to sources, the squad is expected to arrive on August 24, with training commencing a day later. The camp will accommodate the full 15-member World Cup squad along with reserve players, though the precise itinerary is yet to be disclosed. A source revealed, “Those team members who are in Australia for the ongoing ‘A’ tour may join the camp directly in Visakhapatnam after the four-day game." This assembly follows a ten-day preparatory camp in Bengaluru at the BCCI Centre of Excellence (CoE), focusing on strength and conditioning, skill-specific drills, and match simulations to prime the squad for the upcoming tournament starting September 30. The choice of Visakhapatnam is strategic, as India faces South Africa on October 9 and defending champions Australia on October 12 during the league stages. The venue will allow players to acclimatize to conditions and fine-tune combinations.
